Feature updating of Vigo's Zéro de Conduite (q.v.), at times gritty, at others surreal in a Dick Lester sort of way. Its hand is at times overplayed (that the education system is designed to perpetuate bullying, paedophilia and prepare boys for military life) and it muddies the waters by endowing its rebels with precisely those characeristics, but it nonetheless hits many targets squarely and entertainingly.
