Priestley's classic cautionary tale cries out for the common man, and who better to speak for the exploited lower orders than Alastair Sim, hardly sounding altogether at home in a Yorkshire town? This version of the play still works pretty well, production and acting-wise, and Hamilton draws us into the intrigue.
