The Hellfire Club (1960)
Country: GB
Technical: col/scope 93m
Director: Robert S. Baker, Monty Berman
Cast: Keith Michell, Peter Arne, Adrienne Corri, Peter Cushing
Synopsis:
18th century England, and a dispossessed aristocrat returns to claim his birthright from his nefarious cousin, an adherent of the infamous Hellfire Club.
Review:
As Halliwell put it, the duels and leaping about are somewhat too frivolous in tone, in spite of the fact that the hero has been brought up in a travelling circus. But it moves at a fair pace and even manages to raise an eyebrow or two, befitting its title (after a libertinous society of toff hell-raisers).
