Husbands and Wives (1992)
Country: US
Technical: col 108m
Director: Woody Allen
Cast: Woody Allen, Judy Davis, Mia Farrow, Sydney Pollack, Juliette Lewis
Synopsis:
In the course of a dinner party the guest couple announce their intention to separate. Over the following days, the host couple re-examine their own relationship and find it wanting.
Review:
Certain mannerisms irritate: the handheld camera veering back and forth, Farrow's whine, Allen's 'y'knows' and ingratiating tone. In retrospect a revealing and 'moral' addition to the oeuvre, short on laughs, but with one excellent performance: Davis.
