Harold Lloyd's World of Comedy (1962)
Country: US
Technical: bw 97m
Director: comp.
Cast: Harold Lloyd
Synopsis:
An appreciation of the silent comedian's best moments.
Review:
Sadly the excellent silent extracts are too soon superceded by the talkie ones; though Lloyd survived the transition better than Keaton, there is still the feeling that sound is superfluous if not detrimental. The best sequences are from Hot Water and Girl Shy, the latter consisting of a race against time to derail a wedding which surely inspired The Graduate.
