The Green Berets (1968)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/scope 141m
Director: John Wayne, Ray Kellogg
Cast: John Wayne, David Janssen, Jim Hutton, Aldo Ray

Synopsis:

A US Special Forces colonel fights hard to consolidate his base in Vietnam, and is then sent on a mission to kidnap a North Vietnamese general.

Review:

The Duke leads his soldiers through Vietnam as if they were a troop of Seventh Cavalry ('Move out!'), ignores the sensitive political issues and piles on war movie clichés. With only David Janssen's meddling war correspondent providing critical commentary on the waging of the war, the film attracted understandable contempt on its release.
