Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/2.39:1 121m
Director: James Gunn
Cast: Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Michael Rooker

Synopsis:

Various interested parties - a half-Terran hellraiser, galactic marauders, a warmonger with delusions of grandeur, and the mighty Thanos himself - fight for possession of a mysterious orb, as the peace-loving Xandarian civilization is threatened with obliteration.

Review:

More unutterable nonsense, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe expands. This one does have a generous dose of humour, depending on how funny you find the idea of a voluble racoon (Cooper) and a talking tree stump of limited vocabulary (Diesel). They should have saved their money - both are wasted. More enjoyable are Bautista's deceptively eloquent sensitive giant and Saldana's walking weapon with a conscience, and Pratt makes for an engaging foil. But will little blue men really sport an Alabama accent?
