Green Card (1990)

£0.00

Country: AUS/FR
Technical: col 108m
Director: Peter Weir
Cast: Gérard Depardieu, Andie MacDowell

Synopsis:

A French dropout and a New York horticulturalist marry for mundane reasons, but after an immigration clampdown find they do not want to part.

Review:

A true clash of opposites romance that normally forms the basis of a police buddy movie, this has some of the appeal of Pretty Woman but is weightier for being grounded in real characterisations. It was revealing as well to see what continental finesse a presence such as Depardieu's could bring to an American film, albeit one directed by Weir.
