G.I. Jane (1997)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: Technicolor/Panavision 124m
Director: Ridley Scott
Cast: Demi Moore, Viggo Mortensen, Anne Bancroft, Scott Wilson

Synopsis:

A female intelligence officer is sent to train with the Navy SEALs as a test case for the integration of women in the military. However, she must deal with prejudice on the part of her superiors and exploitation by the politicians who put her there.

Review:

Like brother Tony's Top Gun, this features nearly two hours of macho posturing and snarling before culminating in an irresponsible piece of flagwaving action, this time against the Libyans. Moore ups the acting stakes by shaving her hair off in front of the camera, and the scene in which she is beaten up by her instructor while on a training exercise must be seen to be believed.
