The Fatal Mallet (1914)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: bw 11m
Director: Mack Sennett
Cast: Charlie Chaplin, Mabel Normand, Mack Sennett, Mack Swain

Synopsis:

Charlie and Mack fight over Mabel, but are then supplanted in turn by an even older man (Swain) and a small boy.

Review:

A very crude one-reeler in which the only comic idea is the pelting of bricks at the antagonist's head (invariably received by poor Mabel), and the use of an outsize mallet as a more effective weapon. We again finish in the lake.
