For Queen and Country (1988)

£0.00

Country: GB/US
Technical: col 106m
Director: Martin Stellman
Cast: Denzel Washington, Dorian Healy, Sean Chapman

Synopsis:

A British soldier demobbed after the Falklands finds his heroic status an irrelevance in his adjustment to civilian life.

Review:

A politically naïve thriller from the makers of Defence of the Realm, with some of the hysterical partisanship of Sammy and Rosie Get Laid. Like the record player in 'Defence', the final Western-style showdown and tragic ending is an unnecessary twist, undermining the rest of the film through its contrivance. George Baker is a glad sight, as a copper (what else?)
