Festival (2005)
Country: GB
Technical: col 107m
Director: Annie Griffin
Cast: Lyndsey Marshal, Daniela Nardini, Chris O'Dowd, Raquel Cassidy, Stephen Mangan
Synopsis:
A multi-stranded narrative taking in various performers and pundits at the Edinburgh Festival, in particular those caught up in the nominations for the coveted Comedy Award, but also a one-woman show based on Dorothy Wordsworth and a troupe of Canadian performance artists.
Review:
Fitfully amusing but often repellent close-up view of some pretty vacuous and self-obsessed people; the most positive characters are a naïve actress, a post-natally depressed housewife and a disillusioned BBC Radio reporter - all women. Fancy that.
