Father's Little Dividend (1951)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: bw 81m
Director: Vincente Minnelli
Cast: Spencer Tracy, Elizabeth Taylor, Joan Bennett

Synopsis:

Stanley, the father who so recently lost his daughter in Father of the Bride, must soon adjust to the idea of grandparenthood.

Review:

Once again much of the fun derives from Tracy's character's morose reactions while all around him are fussing and being effusive. He carries the picture single-handed, no mean task when it was knocked together in about three weeks during pre-production for An American in Paris. Thankfully we are spared googoo eyes until the very last scenes, when father is finally reconciled to the idea of being a grandpa.
