Fast & Furious 5 (2011)

£0.00

(Fast Five)

Country: US
Technical: col/2.35:1 131m
Director: Justin Lin
Cast: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Dwayne Johnson

Synopsis:

Rogue FBI agent O'Conner busts his ex-con friend Turetto out of custody aboard a train, and together they flee to Rio, where they conceive a plan to relieve their nemesis, a drug dealer named Reyes, of his ill-gotten gains. This while evading their FBI pursuers.

Review:

High stakes, low probability thrills and spills as never before, and the franchise was finally hitting its stride, a cross between Ocean's Eleven and some far-east franchise, where mission impossibilities are overlooked in favour of glamour and spectacle. (The grand finale is a sequence in which two albeit high speed cars drag an armour-plated walk-in safe around downtown Rio, while outrunning police and taking out their antagonists with said impedimenta.) Characterisation is as lite as before, the one criterion of any worth appearing to be loyalty, and dialogue is mostly undiscernible.
