Fantastic Voyage (1966)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/scope 100m
Director: Richard Fleischer
Cast: Stephen Boyd, Raquel Welch, Edmond O'Brien, Donald Pleasence

Synopsis:

Injured in a hit attempt by Soviet agents, a defecting scientist must be saved by implementation of his pioneering shrinking technology. A medical team will be shrunk in size inside a submarine and pilot themselves to remove the blood clot in his brain, but they only have one hour before the shrinking process wears off!

Review:

A premise that beggared belief back in the 60s is today, with microsurgery a commonplace reality, endearing in its naïvety. It is naturally an excuse for the Fox art department to elaborate all manner of organ interiors and flying antibodies, and encourage us to wonder at the miracle of human anatomy while enjoying the imperilment of our shrunken characters.
