Entrapment (1999)

£0.00

Country: US/GB/GER
Technical: DeLuxe 113m
Director: Jon Amiel
Cast: Sean Connery, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Ving Rhames, Will Patton

Synopsis:

A master criminal is tempted by an insurance agent posing as a catburglar into doing two all but impossible but highly lucrative capers. But who is luring whom?

Review:

The preposterousness of the logistics involved in the story preclude any sense of compunction over hinting at its final twist. It is never revealed how all the sensitive information governing the security of their targets is acquired, for one thing, and the difference in the ages of the leads makes for some coy acting: as Jones squeezes her snugly clothed frame between lazer beams, is it with lustful satisfaction or faint discomfort that Connery grunts so audibly? On the plus side Kuala Lumpur makes for a welcomely untypical setting for the second set piece robbery.
