Review:
Iannucci's 'The Thick of it' brand of political satire transfers pretty well to Soviet Russia, though the anglophone accents jar somewhat and some of the humour is heavily telegraphed without being particularly funny. However, much of it is well achieved in purely horrific terms, and it has a kind of delirious momentum of its own, while Russell Beale's performance is a chilling piece of genius, combining comedic flair with Shakespearian tragedy.
