The Crown (2016-22)

£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: col/2.00:1. TV Series: 5 seasons (2,900m)
Director: Peter Morgan
Cast: Claire Foy, Vanessa Kirby, John Lithgow, Matt Smith, Tobias Menzies, Olivia Colman, Elizabeth Debicki

Synopsis:

A dramatisation of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, highlighting the epoch-making events of her life on the throne, and at times ferreting around the personal tribulations of members of the Royal Family.

Review:

The Netflix series drew some of the finest actors around to play the House of Windsor, and none are quite as well loved as Claire Foy's first incarnation of the Queen. Indeed, the earlier series work the best, seeming to take it as their duty to teach the contemporary generation of internauts something about their common history; the later ones succumbed to fanciful imaginings surrounding the Diana business and, as might be expected, taught us nothing.
