The Call of the Wild (1972)

£0.00

Country: GB/GER/SP/IT/FR
Technical: col 105m
Director: Ken Annakin
Cast: Charlton Heston, Michèle Mercier

Synopsis:

An Alaskan fur trapper bonds with a sled dog that used to be a domestic before it was transported north.

Review:

What was originally a very canine story in London's book, as the dog throws off the veneer of domesticity and rises up to dominate his pack, is of necessity humanized somewhat in this film version, which follows an earlier one with Gable and Young. Heston is just the actor to play a prospector/trapper type and there are scenes that communicate the harsh realities of life in the wild.
