Cuba (1979)
Country: GB/US
Technical: col 122m
Director: Richard Lester
Cast: Sean Connery, Brooke Adams, Jack Weston, Hector Elizondo, Martin Balsam
Synopsis:
In pre-revolutionary Cuba a British mercenary arrives to train Batista's men in anti-guerrilla tactics, at the same time resuming an old affair with a woman now married to a corrupt plantation owner.
Review:
Lester's Cuban drama is a compromised affair, a co-production that has trouble deciding what sort of film it wants to be. A good cast is consequently largely wasted.
