Confidences trop intimes (2004)

£0.00

(Intimate Strangers)

Country: FR
Technical: col/scope 104m
Director: Patrice Leconte
Cast: Fabrice Luchini, Sandrine Bonnaire, Anne Brochet, Michel Duchaussoy

Synopsis:

A woman with marital difficulties inadvertently discusses them with a tax assessor rather than the psychoanalyst down the hall. When she realizes her mistake she continues her visits, in a more or less manipulative, more or less mutually gratifying game of seduction.

Review:

The film just about works on the level of individual performance and the cockeyed observational style of its director-writer, but does not hold up to too much scrutiny. Above all, the motivation of its temptress is all too opaque and inconsistent for the agreeable outcome to hold credibility. However, Luchini's startled rabbit expression and comédie française diction go a long way, and the secretary is a choice cameo.
