Classe tous risques (1960)
Country: FR/IT
Technical: bw 110m
Director: Claude Sautet
Cast: Lino Ventura, Sandra Milo, Jean-Paul Belmondo
Synopsis:
A bandit and his family make the perilous journey from Italy to France, hounded by Italian police, but on his arrival in the home country he finds his former associates less ready to help him out than he expected.
Review:
Splendid piece of French polar, worthy of Melville at his best, with particularly well-drawn criminal underworld types, once our antihero makes it to Paris. The flight from Italy with his accomplice is also an exciting sequence in its own right. Ventura delivers a characteristically granitic performance, albeit with moments of pathos, and Bé-Bel shows star charisma springing fully formed from the helmet of A bout de souffle.
