The Black Swan (1942)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 85m
Director: Henry King
Cast: Tyrone Power, Maureen O'Hara, Laird Cregar, Thomas Mitchell, George Zucco, Anthony Quinn, George Sanders

Synopsis:

Reformed pirate Henry Morgan makes after one of his former buccaneers who has apparently kidnapped the previous governor's daughter.

Review:

The pirate film that probably most resembles Pirates of the Caribbean in plot line (and the physiognomies of its cast), this is a smashing Technicolor romp of the Flynn school, except Fox not Warners. Sure, the ships are models all right, but there's nothing wooden about the playing and plenty of good humour about.
