The Bourne Ultimatum (2007)

£0.00

Country: US/GER
Technical: Technicolor/scope 115m
Director: Paul Greengrass
Cast: Matt Damon, Julia Stiles, David Strathairn, Scott Glenn, Joan Allen, Paddy Considine, Albert Finney

Synopsis:

Continuing to search for the truth behind the memory flashes that plague him, Jason Bourne contacts a reporter who has published a story about him with the aim of tracing his source, a regional level CIA section head. Unfortunately, the architects of the programme that made Bourne what he is are also after the source and are prepared to kill anyone who gets in their way.

Review:

A satisfying conclusion to the series, filmed in the same breakneck, up close style that the director has made a trademark, the film resolves itself into the customary series of hand-to-hands and vehicular chases, this time in London, Madrid, Tangiers and New York. The feeling of déjà vu is leavened by the virtuosic direction and production work; Damon is perhaps slightly less impressive than before. The soundtrack is unremittingly thumping and will not be to all tastes.
