Political spaghetti western with the usual role reversals and stand-offs. Van Cleef, in his first starring role, shrugs off the advances of a string of women, thus continuing the macho bias of Leone's films, and Morricone delivers a cracking score. A cut above the dross of this particular sub-genre.
