Blind Flight (2003)

£0.00

Country: GB/GER/EIRE
Technical: col 96m
Director: John Furse
Cast: Ian Hart, Linus Roache

Synopsis:

Brian Keenan, a teacher in Beirut, is kidnapped and held hostage by islamic militiamen, as is reporter John McCarthy some time later. Together they spend years in captivity, surviving indignity and brutality as well as sharing occasional moments of humanity with their captors.

Review:

Confining itself exclusively to the point of view of its two main protagonists, this painstaking film brushes to one side political realities and moral highgrounding and draws performances of immense conviction from the stars. It fails, however, to carry any lasting impact.
