Bitter Moon (1992)

£0.00

(Lune de fiel)

Country: GB/FR
Technical: col 139m
Director: Roman Polanski
Cast: Peter Coyote, Emmanuelle Seigner, Hugh Grant, Kristin Scott-Thomas

Synopsis:

A crippled fellow passenger on an eastbound cruiser regales the husband of a reserved British couple with the story of his apparent sexual enslavement of the woman for whom his eager listener has already developed an obsession of his own.

Review:

Polanski's vicariously indulgent wallow in S and M with his seductive new wife yields one of his least convincing films, the prurient Coyote oh-so clearly going to corrupt his proper English couple through over-titillation of his male counterpart. The bitterness is the knowledge that a relationship has reached the limit of its sexual excitement.
