A Busy Day (1914)

Country: US
Technical: bw 6m
Director: Mack Sennett
Cast: Charlie Chaplin, Mack Swain, Mack Sennett

Synopsis:

A husband flirts with a pretty woman while attending the military parade with his wife, who takes violent and indiscriminate revenge!

Review:

Pure, breathless, physical comedy from Sennett here, ending as often in the drink. Charlie is in drag as the wife, and if you are not sharp-eyed you will miss the motivation for all her kicking and socking (no insert shots). As she tries to get in on the newsreel footage, she also comes to blows with the cameraman and picks a fight with the policeman guarding the band.
