The Art of Love (1965)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 99m
Director: Norman Jewison
Cast: James Garner, Dick Van Dyke, Angie Dickinson, Elke Sommer

Synopsis:

Amorous complications ensue when an unsuccessful artist fakes his own suicide in order to increase the value of his works.

Review:

Feeble comedy, without the Edwardsian charm it tries so hard to kindle, and with self-reflexive touches which do not come off as gags, viz. 'You've been seeing too many Peter Sellers movies', says the Clouseau-like police inspector, breaking his umbrella in a nervous gesture. The star performances are as lacklustre as the material, though the ladies at least look good.
