(Airport 1975)

Country: US
Technical: col/scope 105m
Director: Jack Smight
Cast: Charlton Heston, Karen Black, George Kennedy, Susan Clark, Dana Andrews

Synopsis:

A Boeing 747 is struck mid-air by a light aircraft, killing the pilot, and an air hostess takes over on autopilot. It soon becomes clear, however, that to land it they will need to airlift someone into the cockpit!

Review:

A film you will no longer be able to watch with a straight face, so many of its elements were borrowed by the makers of Airplane! Still, Chuck Heston gets to do his third disaster movie (more would follow), and you can always try and work out how you can winch a man between two planes travelling at 500 mph.
