Aeon Flux (2005)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/2.35:1 93m
Director: Karyn Kusama
Cast: Charlize Theron, Marton Csokas, Jonny Lee Miller, Sophie Okonedo, Frances McDormand, Pete Postlethwaite

Synopsis:

Far into the future human society is limited to an island metropolis surrounded by an encroaching forest. Life is comfortable but there are sudden disappearances and an underground network of rebels known as Monicans.

Review:

The plot revolves around DND replication and infertility, and generally we feel we have been here before - often (The Matrix, The Handmaid's Tale, Equilibrium). Miss Theron cavorts around in a sexy catsuit and sports some fetishistic nightwear while oddly hardly raising the pulse rate, and the action sequences are so cut about and over-determined that very little excitement is generated there either. Some great production design does not a good sci-fi make.
