Country: US
Technical: col/2.35:1 105m
Director: Timur Bekmambetov
Cast: Benjamin Walker, Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rufus Sewell, Marton Csokas

Synopsis:

His mother bitten in revenge when he comes to the aid of a would-be slave boy, young Abraham Lincoln nurses his revenge against the monster responsible until the day he meets a true vampire hunter. Together they embark on a renewed offensive against the scourge besetting the nation, but the Presidency beckons and Abe must set aside his silver-headed axe for a while.

Review:

In this revision of history, the Civil War is partly a struggle to cut off the ready food supply represented by slavery, vampire-led Southern troops threatening to engulf the North! So preposterous as to merit full marks for sheer nerve, this fantasy actioner from the director of Night Watch sports a weakish lead, but fans of bloodthirsty spectacle will be more than contented. Cooper impresses in the second fiddle role and production highlights include a duel astride stampeding horses, a train crossing a burning bridge, and aerial vistas of New Orleans, Washington and Gettysburg.
