8 Million Ways to Die (1986)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 115m
Director: Hal Ashby
Cast: Jeff Bridges, Rosanna Arquette, Alexandra Paul, Andy Garcia

Synopsis:

An alcoholic ex-cop teams up with a hooker in L.A. to bring a Hispanic hoodlum to justice.

Review:

Its title apparently derived from the population of the city at the time, this hackneyed crime thriller could have been saved only by a realistic approach to its material. Sadly, whether in its scenario, glossy images or pounding score, this is far from the case, and entertaining though it is to have one's villains portrayed as camp and emotionally unbalanced, if they were like these they would have killed each other off years ago. A sad footnote to a master director-editor's career.
