The Leopard Man (1943)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: bw 59m
Director: Jacques Tourneur
Cast: Dennis O'Keefe, Jean Brooks, Margo

Synopsis:

A performer at a nightclub in New Mexico uses a leopard in her act, but through a competitor's jealousy it escapes and apparently mauls a number of people in the surrounding area.

Review:

Excellently directed 'horror' film, though not even its premise is supernatural. The final revelation enhances the impression of watching a cracking good Sherlock Holmes programmer, only without Basil Rathbone. Tourneur employs similar tricks to Cat People without really explaining them satisfactorily, but without outstaying his welcome either.
